Rapunzel/Tangled - The Grimm Brothers' story is an adaptation of the fairy tale Persinette by Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force originally published in 1698.

Then Disney claimed copyright over them and extended copyright so no one else can build on what they have done. Isn't it funny how it's legal for corporations to steal from the public domain yet when they feel it's their work being stolen they need to have laws changed to prevent it happening even if it means walking all over our civil liberties.
