There seems to be a lot of uncertainty about that company ATM, but it does suggest that Whishlist functionality could be added to Sky/Freesat/Freeview/Youview boxes. Which surprises me as to why it hasn't been done so far. Maybe, because of Tivo's patents, it could only be a limited implementation? It would be good to know the facts. For me, the more boxes that offer Whishlists and more than 2 tuners, the better.

I guess the reason for this is that Tivo had virtually no visible presence in thr UK for years so no STB manufacturer was that interested in additional features.
Platforms do offer some additional features via apps but it is up to the user to update on the STB side, e.g. FV app offers recommendations based on shows you say you are interested in and Sky offer stuff like Never Miss and Sky showcase and AT. They will probably now move towards access from external devices meaning stuff likr Nevet Miss can be used by the user to directly access the STB via app and update.
There are some excellent STBs out there that are running advanced features via user modifications. A member on AVForum called Raydon has been developing modifications for the Humax Foxsat. That STB can now offer shared planner access, advanced multimedia streaming and archiving of SD and HD material for viewing on external devices.
