I used to work for a Private Investigation company. I only did office work so I was kept away from any of the 'insider' stuff but I saw enough shocking information pass by my desk to know that a lot goes on which would be considered 'grey' area.

Think about it - a PI is expected to obtain information not normally open to the public and without going through official (ie police etc) channels. To do this it would be naive to think everything they do is above board.
indeed thank you and agree with comments its sorry state affairs for sure. Its scary what sort information can be got on individuals certainly needs investigating either by police and government.
