Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen would be interested in a move to the Premier League according to his agent, with Tottenham being the front runners to sign the player.

After an impressive season for Ajax, who celebrated winning the Eredivisie on Wednesday night, Vertonghen has become one of Europe’s most prized assests with a whole host of English clubs.

Interest has also come from AC Milan and Barcelona for the highly-rated vice-captain, however, according to his representative Spurs have made an approach, despite manager Harry Redknapp’s insistence of the opposite.

The agent told reporters: "There is enormous interest. A number of clubs have made concrete approaches, with Tottenham among them,"
