THE once-raced Ballydoyle filly Kissed careered away with the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Salsabil Stakes at Navan on Sunday and was vaulted to second favouritism for the Investec Oaks as a result.

Making all under Joseph O'Brien, the close relation of last year's Derby winner Pour Moi quickened impressively from the front in the rain-softened ground to beat her rivals by upwards of eight and a half lengths, and was shortened to a general 5-1 second favourite for the Epsom Classic behind her stablemate Maybe, although bet365 went as short as 4-1 (from 14-1). Coral go the same price from 10-1.

Longchamp: Prix Ganay (Group 1) 1m2½f, 4yo+

CIRRUS DES AIGLES (Corine Barande-Barbe/Olivier Peslier) landed his third Group 1in impressive fashion in the Ganay, taking the lead early and slowly pulling away from his rivals to beat Giofra and Reliable Man with contempt.

Peslier took things up in the back straight and set a steady gallopon the winner, before injecting pace into the contest rounding the home bend to stretch the field.

Entering the home straight Cirrus Des Aigles was three lengths clear of his nearest pursuers and pulled further clear under nothing more than hands and heels urging from Peslier to win by eight lengths.

Farraaj and Rockinante out of luck in Guineas.

Capannelle: Premio Parioli (Group 3) 1m, turf, 3yo colts

BRITISH-trained pair Farraaj and Rockinante were out of luck in the Italian 2,000 Guineas, finishing third and eighth behind Malossol (Giuseppe Botti/Fabio Branca).

The winner came from well off the pace to collar Vedelago inside the final 25 yards to land the major share of the €110,000 prize by a short head, with two and a quarter lengths back to Farraaj in third.

Longchamp: Prix Vanteaux (Group 3) 1m1¼f, 3yo fillies

FRANCOIS ROHAULT'S remarkable run of wins in this season's Classic trials continued as Trois Lunes (Francois-Xavier Bertras) burst between horses to score by a neck.

"Francois has given her a dream ride and she's a filly we've always liked, although I don't think she necessarily liked the ground this heavy," said Rohault, who now has realistic contenders for all four classics in France this spring.

"She has great presence as well as a lot of class," he continued. "Now she's won the Vanteaux, if everything goes well she's on the regal route [to the Prix de Diane]."
