On the V+ I had loads and loads of daily episodes of Mash and never once was one deleted. On V+ if the hard drive got full, it would by default delete whatever progamme was the oldest recording, though I think there were other settings.
I never had any problem with the display on a V+. The Tivo seems just as slow (sometimes VERY slow). Presumably with development the V+ problem at midnight could be overcome

Not true, they are marked for deletion
when room is needed. I've had 2 programmes on my TiVo marked for deletion for 4 weeks now
