Sky unveils ultra-high speed FTTC service; plans to offer free Wi-Fi coverage

Quote:
UK broadband provider BSkyB (Sky Broadband) has launched a new ultra-high speed ‘Unlimited Fibre’ broadband package, costing GBP20 (USD31.8) per month, plus a one-time setup fee of GBP50, enabling users to benefit from download speeds of up to 40Mbps around the country. The new service will use BT’s fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTCC) technology, it said. BSkyB says that new and existing customers will need to bundle its Sky Talk (costing either GBP0 or GBP5 per month) and Sky Line Rental (GBP12.25) with the new fibre broadband package.
