I've built a tolerance for pain meds over the years, I take 45-75mg (sometimes more) of codeine phosphate with 1000mg paracetamol, or use Buprenorphine or Fentanyl transdermal patches. Half of the time, the symptoms can be more bearable than the remedies. Sometimes you have to go to that happy place with the medication just for a bit of time out. Its finding that balance of what works and what you need to do.
All I ever wanted was to be knocked out for the duration of the attack so I could sleep it off.
