It's free in Wales BUT only in those hospitals who have paid off the bills for building carparks. And that bill isn't dropping quickly as they have to pay for ticket machines, security and patrols that book you if you don't pay or run over the time limits.

Streets local to our hospital have all been yellow-lined (not even disabled can park) and a nearby public "free" area for users of the local parkland was also sold off to the car parking company who then slapped parking fees on everyone because some hospital visitors were parking there.
