Great point. Newcastle not so long ago had one of the biggest wage bills in the league and were massively underachieving for the value and wage of the team. They threw money at 'Big' players that turned into major flops and disasters (Luque, Owen, Boumsong) Then relegation came which was probably the greatest thing to happen to Newcastle United for a long time! The debt was reduced, wages dropped and as you seen with the Championship that season it was a riot. Then they offloaded players on stupid wages and bought players cheap or free that turned into the squad today. A risk was taken with Demba Ba but that paid off massively. All Newcastle need to do now is continue to bring in worthy players and keep aiming for stability like Spurs have done over the years. It will take time but we are enjoying the season we are having and a result on Monday would keep us chasing not just the Europa League but the Champions League too.
