Just face it: The jobs are there and pay what the job is worth. If you don't want to work why the hell should I pay so much tax just to save your backside from an honest days work?
If you say "I can't live on that", then reduce your expectations. If that means you have to share a house with others in order to be able to afford the rent then so be it. It's what the immigrants are doing. If you want more money then better yourself. Don't expect the state to feather bed you just because you can't be assed to get up and do some honest work for a change.

There are not many jobs there and very few of them are decent jobs, why should we be prepared to reduce our standard of living just for the sake of fixing the mistakes of the rich and powerful (whose lifestyles are getting better), all we ask is that real decent jobs are created, not the unemployed put into poorly paid jobs
It is not a question of “I can’t live on that!”, but “why should I live on that?”
What is the point of democracy and capitalism when our standard of living is not improving (which is what almost everyone care about the most), I fear that other people (more extreme that me) would answer that question...
