Now it begins.
the idea is to get as many people off the highest paying benefits and put onto lowerpaid benefits. or to reduce the money they are paid by any means they can.

I bet the DWP are on the phones now "Hello, I want to have a quick chat with you to see if I can find a way of reducing your benefits"

'Notes to Editors' says it all.

No longer will it be possible to be better off on benefits than in work.
(if taking a job meant you were worse off, the obvious thing is to reduce what you were getting on the dole so that job pays more now)

a new £50 civil penalty in cases of claimant error
(loads and loads of fines then. we love fines. it's what keeps the country sane and running)
