If you want HD Freeview then get a Humax HDR Fox T2.

It does the record2 + watch a third trick LexDiamond mentioned.

It's straightforward to transfer SD recording to a PC for editing (it has USB + network connections and you can add a wifi dongle) and fairly straightforward to transfer HD recordings.
