I again rang support and after the technician had spoken to another, told me my router was faulty. I replied, IF? I replace my router and its not the problem all hell will break lose. I looked on the web for another router and decided to think about it for a day. Switched off and this afternoon when going on line, everything is working fine. So who gave NTL a box of Smarties? Since then I have been advised to do a router update from Netgear. Just in case it has a software fault.
I am delighted your problem is sorted. it's always nice when something gets fixed, even if the tooth fairy apparently did it.

I used to be able to call on the tooth fairy in extreme cases, but it was only Bill C in disguise.
