No freeview pvr will have more than 3 tuners so I guess your best bet is to use the tv as a tuner for watching tv and the pvr as a twin tuner for recording two shows.

Some freeview tuners do however allow for a 3rd show to be watched depending on which mux the two shows are being recorded from.

For your choice of pvr, generally the two most popular are the Humax Fox and the Digitalstream pvrs. The Humax can be hacked so can allow additional finctionality. It is the more expensive of the two as it has more functionality as standard. The Digitalstream is very easy to use, relaible and intuitive to use.

On AV Forums, under pvr section, they have user threads for both so worth checking out.
