Re: TV price rises

I have been reassessing my own package and hit upon the same point-I rarely use my land line because I've got such a good deal on my mobile (Virgin). In fact, most of my land line use is my mother, who provides most of our child care while we're at work. I could easily do without a land line, but I do think the least I can do is allow my mum the use of a phone so I'll be sticking with it. Then I got to thinking about why I moved to Virgin in the first place. Mainly it was irritation at having to pay for very frequent call outs to Sky who seemed incapable of providing me with equipment that wouldn't break down, and the appalling broadband speeds available from my Bt exchange.

The call out issue remains in Virgin's favour, and Bt only yesterday estimated a speed of 3 mb, accurate to 1 or 2 mb (!), and there are no plans for infinity in my area yet.

I'll probably offset some of the price rise, which I still haven't had confirmation of by the way, by reducing my broadband from 30 to 10, which will soon become 20 but apart from that Virgin are still the only company providing me with exactly what I want from both TV and broadband so I don't really have a choice to make.
