It's always worth reassessing your needs when it comes to services you spend your hard earned money on, especially in this economic climate.

In my case I don't want to cancel my landline as my elderly parents are technophobes when it comes to mobiles so I don't think it's fair on them to ring mine from their landline and it costing them a fortune when they want a chat.

On a side note for those that are cancelling their landlines. I hope you're not intending on applying for credit eg. Store credit, loans etc. As sometimes you need to provide a permanent contact number. Well, I know it was a big no no when I used to sell credit a few years ago and if anything it's a lot tighter now
