The small HDD on the V+ forces us to only record stuff we actually want to watch, it's regularly around half full. We only have a SDTV, obviously it will be inadequate when they upgrade to a HDTV and start recording HD.

Anything I put under the TV has to be compatible with the parents so it has to be supersimple to use. Setting a series link and having to modify the padding afterwards would be too complicated. The same goes for using 3 tuners at once, I can imagine my mother getting ready to watch something and then a strange message appears on the screen telling her to cancel one of her recordings, it would annoy her.
