Point 3 - on the V+ that is the default setting with 1 tuner allocated to TV permanently and so 2 other tuners for recordings. The OP was referring to what they would want on Tivo and is a feature I would actually like myself. Not a show stopper but certainly a preference as I personally like a tuner to browse through any channels I wish to look at while leaving 2 other tuners to do planned recordings and for Tivo to reschedule recordings if there is a clash rather than use of the 3rd tuner today.
Point 2 - saw a comment form a VM representative on the VM Tivo Support forum around a month ago saying they are planning to introduce default settings you can customise. Everybody wants to decide what default means for them.
Point 4 - definitely coming and when finally here will be far better than V+ but right now can understand why some people will not change until features like these are in place. Get on with it VM!
