As a SKY Sports subscriber I'm totally overjoyed! Since the demise of Setanta Sports far too many American fights have went untelevised. Hopefully this will signal the end of Primetime Live and the revival of live international boxing almost every weekend
BoxNation show good level domestic action, through the Frank Warren stable, and top European action via their deal with Sauerland. Whilst this deal between SKY and Goldenboy Promotions is going to be tough for BoxNation to swallow, there's still plenty of world class boxing to be televised from the stables of Lou DiBella, Don King, Gary Shaw, Dan Goossen and Top Rank.
I'm getting pretty excited about this announcement. SKY have had very little commitment to international boxing over the past 18 months. If it hadn't been for BoxNation launching, I do not believe this deal with Goldenboy would have happenend. I'm also hoping BoxNation will now react and secure long term deals with Top Rank and Don King etc...
It's a great day to be a boxing fan!
