The websites will see it like that (especially if the apps bypass any ads on the site). So, unless VM come to some sort of arragnment with the site owners (which will probably involve a lot of money) then it's likely that the sites will eventually take action to block access via Tivo.

I'm not sure I see a significant difference between Virgin making money from the box they rent to me and Samsung making money from the computer they sold to me, but I accept that this is probably the reason why apps isn't being used in the way I think it should be.
