I was in the past tense, talking about how they handled the last update, now you're the one having a semantic failure.
And yes, they did say they added support for their TiVo buddy app (and not third party applications as you rightly point out) which you would be able to use to control your box, but the implication was that you'd be able to do it when the new code launched.

It's a failure on their part as if they'd have released the app at the same time, we wouldn't be having this discussion, well certainly I wouldn't because I couldn't care less about the android app!
