I see in your community thread that our new 2nd line has posted incorrect advice about getting a replacement router, that fills me with confidence for when our site closes.

I know what you mean but all our D Links use 192.168.0.1 and if you checked their own site all D links use that ip, which I found strange considering as you say Netgear use the same ip, the main thing is though is his new router worked and he has a spare power pack.
