Out of curiosity, where do you think that the wholesalers get their stock from? They work just as much with promotions as the supermarkets (and the independants, for that matter) - they just start at a lower price because of the amounts that they can actually have on sale at any one time.
I speak as someone who's worked in the food industry for 15 years, for suppliers to both retail and wholesale (with a 4 year stint in independants) - they all work on promotional activity, as that's what people (ie the customer) likes to see. Everybody knows that supermarkets put the bread right in the far corner from the entrance, so that you have to walk past everything else to get to it - ever noticed that your local corner shop does the same? Mine certainly does...
With respect, I am in no way 'bullying' you, and I certainly take no offence in anything you've said - however, you must accept that there are areas where certain people have greater expertise than others. Without wishing to advertise your website particularly, you evidently have much more knowledge in your field than I do, but that does work both ways
