Just checked,BrainDead has been released on Region A (North America) Blu-Ray,so that seems done.

Not sure if the films are even being remastered by WETA,but anyhow it wouldn't have mattered cause Jackson anounced the new masters when Guillermo del Toro was still supposed to direct The Hobbit.They've been worked on for a good while...

LOTR films will be converted to 3D in the not too distant future.... work which won't be done by WETA,but hopefully supervised by PJ himself.
