Since the latest TiVo 15.2 update I thought I'd see what else I can do besides linking up with the iPad buddy app and also the iPhone peanut app. I've just stumbled across kmttg which looks really cool. Unfortunately all my TiVo content is copyright so I can't transfer it to my iPad (or any other suitable device) to watch on the move. But it does give you a lot of information about your TiVo DVR and even has a remote control built in.

If you Google for kmttg the rest is self explanatory and very simple to set up on a Mac.
