okay, i'm guessing from your response that what i may have is a cable problem here.

i have an ethernet between ps3 and router

modem wire (i forget what wire this is rj45?) from router into a ADSL Speedtouch filter

this filter has a phone line (rj11?) coming out and into a 10-15m phone cable (rj11 again?)

which then goes into a surge protector and then directly into the BT master socket.

do i have a cable issue that i could clear up here?
