Those who wanted it early and were prepared to have it with a few features missing were happy and those who wanted it fully featured wait. They don't have to wait any longer than if Tivo had been held back until everything was done (but they'd still be waiting now, and some possibly still are). And Reminders being 'core' functionality on a PVR where all (3) tuners record, is wrong in my view. A nice extra; maybe, but not core; not if the PVR is being used as intended.

Completely right. Being up front about things like red button from the start meant everyone was able to make an informed choice.
However, there are some things that Virgin had the opportunity to put right in the last update, and they got some of those things wrong. That's different.
