OT: Ever used MythTV? It's glorious - standard file formats, web EPG with program streaming, plugins for local content, Youtube, etc etc. Fat database backend and thin clients wherever you want to view content.
Only problem is it runs on Linux and getting PayTV in to it is a Knightmare (
