Episode 8 is the following Friday at the same time and so on and so on. How do I get it just to record that series, in that order and ignore the other showings?

Sounds like it's recording Suggestions too. These will have
symbol next to them, while recordings have a (R)
TiVo will put them in the same folder for easy viewing.
