You can't rely on the HDMI auto-detect picking up all the resolutions... mine never does. Tell TiVo specifically which resolution you want by going to
Settings -> Video Output - Video Output Format and using the
Test Formats option. Any modern 1080i/1080p capable set should manage all of them.
When it's done that and all the resolution boxes are checked, deselect all but the one you want to use (in my case I use 1080i, as 1080p is only 25Hz and all the channels look jerky). Best way to go, in my experience.
Oh, and don't forget to put your TV into
Screen Fit or
Just Scan mode so you don't get overscan on the HD channels, cutting off the edges of whatever you're trying to watch. No point having a HDTV if it's not setup properly... seriously, I've seen some so badly configured that the results are worse than going into a CRT TV!

It doesn't quite work like that.
TiVo works on a "first add, first record" basis. This means the first show you add as a Series Link is considered top priority, and each one after that has a lesser priority. If you want to give a recently added Series Link (or Wishlist) priority over an older, higher one or generally change the order to make sure your favourite content is always at the top and doesn't get ignored in favour of lesser priority ones when more than three things are set to record:
HOME button, then
My Shows & Recordings -> Manage My Series Links. Number 1 on that list is highest priority, with each show below that having lower priority the further down the list it is.
When reorganising this list, be prepared to see the
Please Wait... prompt for several seconds (or minutes, if your Series Link list has lots of items) while TiVo makes changes to the scheduler.
