So presumably video calls via Skype or Facetime are impossible. VPN access for people trying to work at home will be ridiculously slow too. Their customers must love that.

I am moving towards doing everything encrypted. All Google services are available on SSL, for example, so I chew a lot of bandwidth when uploading backup files to my account. Everything is moving in that direction so merely retarding encrypted traffic is unlikely to be a viable option in the near future.
