In my view, the only real reason/benefit to Sky having so many +1 channels is because it helps the Sky+ box as it only has two tuners. Having time shifted channels makes it easier to avoid recording clashes at peak times (for those that don't use the basic search facility and record stuff late at night/early hours).

With 3/4 tuners and on demand for the main channels this isn't an issue with Virgin. Well, I hope not, guess I'll soon find out!

And I repeat, the majority of these "minority channels" are available if you keep your Sky box (which is yours after all).

Can someone stop this merry-go-round please, I want to get off!
