So if you want to watch TV without the threat of the picture freezing, or breaking up, you need to join Virgin. It's no good having hundreds of channels if people have trouble watching them in the Winter
Basically if you lose signal at the slightest shower your dish has been installed incorrectly , since going back to Sky we've had one brief loss of picture which lasted under a minute during a thunderstorm. Try watching OD with VM when the networks down something we had numerous times here. How does TIVO function with no network ? It's a genuine question I don't know the answer.
