Well I don't watch any of them...well we have The Soprano's om DVD. But with all the channels there is always something to watch without worrying about one channel.
Don't you remember when Sky took Sky 1 off VM? Well actually they put the price up too much. Well there was an outcry, but at the end of the day it was one channel, and most people who complained were only worried about the Simpsons.

The channel has been up and running now for 9 months, so has had plenty of time to settle in.

Any independent review will depend on the tastes of the reviewer. It's up to individuals to look at the program line up, decide if they really want the channel, and then if they aren't with Sky, then weigh up the extra cost in changing.
Personally I have had Sky Atlantic since it's launch, but never watched it.
