Sounds far more plausible than the Tivo VP's and VM Marketing "spin" …..and possibly still leaves the hypotheses for the OP's BB performance degradation on the "debating table"?

If the symptoms are regular @ "peak times" why not power off Tivo box for a couple of days to (dis)prove? Mind you "withdrawal" symptoms may be worse than the BB issue?
