They totally deserve it for the massive returns they've given to their shareholders over the past years and the manner in which they've shared these boons with their staff over that period.

If it weren't for the generosity of big business in paying their staff so admirably relative to their own compensation at the top and keeping pace with the costs of living we'd be in the absurd situation of having to give some of those working full time welfare in order to cover basic living costs.
