Ta. I actually tried that earlier anyway - Shift-Update & browsing to the .ipsw file still gave the error. I've just tried again though, and done Shift-Restore instead of Shift-Update, and it appears to have updated...it's currently restoring my backup. Fingers crossed!

Well this is strange. I can actually use the phone while it's restoring the apps etc. Makes a change from waiting for "SYNC IN PROGRESS" to go away.
I've been on iOS5 since beta one and its a feature I love. It now syncs in the background so you can still use the phone. WiFi sync is also pretty cool.
