Virgin refuses to stock Apple smartphone
Thursday 13th October 2011
Virgin has said it will not be selling the latest Apple smartphone through its stores.
The new iPhone 4S is set be released in the UK within days but speaking to the t3 website, director of mobile at Virgin Media Jamie Heywood said the company would not be hosting the device.
This is despite the main five mobile phone networks in the UK - and smaller providers like Tesco Mobile - saying they will do.
"At the moment we haven't got a plan to launch the iPhone 4S but we continue to look into it," he stated, although he acknowledged that the Apple product is a "great device" that many Virgin Media customers will buy.
Mr Heywood said that the decision not to host the 4s will be reviewed regularly.
Launching the device earlier this month, Apple called it "the most amazing iPhone yet ".
It features elements such as a dual-core A5 chip, an all-new eight megapixel camera and optics, iOS 5 and iCloud.

This could be the killer for me to move companies come the end of my contract in March. Shame as some great tariffs on Virgin Mobile
