Liverpool want it because they know they're the weakest of the top sides at the moment, but have massive overseas support. They'd gain by far the most out of it as they're the team that needs the biggest investment to compete.

From Liverpool's point of view though, they are getting overtaken by teams like City and Chelsea who have buckets of cash. Meanwhile they are expected to share the revenue they bring in, due to their brand, from overseas rights to be shared equally amongst all the teams.

Manchester United and Liverpool are by far the biggest draws for that international audience after all yet they get the same amount as Blackpool did last season (not counting domestic tv income).
