no it isn't. although it needs improving firmware wise i can't vouch for it being useless. i've used 2.4GHz and 5GHz on the SH and speed wise I didn't have any issues, it always gave me a reasonable result and range. for me its now playing up glitch'ing because of the poor wireless chips in 2 of my laptops.
