Ok General, thanks for your time, much appreiciated.

By the way i have now removed the ethernet lead on the downstairs PS3 and the speed and connection are much more consistent over wireless than wired.

Going to try a different ethernet lead and after looking on the net ive found a couple of other setting changes for the hub that might help with the PS3 side of things. Then ill phone virgin.
