You would be surprised. I have had to fault find systems where GPS circa 1570MHz was being blocked by a simple but badly laid out/designed "buck" style PWM regulator running at 150KHz. OK GPS is running at a much lower signal strength but nonetheless.

The mush these power supplies generate is pretty bad despite having a CE marking. Not to mention the mush a laptop puts out having many such devices inside.

In hindsight, I think it's more likely an issue with the network being disabled on battery as some have previously posted.
