I have had this happen with Win 7, one trouble with the diagnostics is they sometimes say things that are rubbish. As with the example above as if you have no internet access how can you expect to have access to the DNS servers?
I think I got away with just disabling the interface on the PC and re-enabling it but I wouldn't swear to it
