Unfortunately they do use "buy" - see
http://shop.virginmedia.com/bundles.html In big letters "Six months half price plus free installation with selected bundles. Buy any two get £30 off. Buy any three get £60 off." Click "Find out more" and you get "Buy online and get £xx off your first bill " depending on the bundle.
Like yourself I know it's rental have been with them long enough but I think the wording should be changed.
