In short, the BBC are to reduce the number of red button streams to five due to the closure of one of the satellite transponders the BBC uses and squeezing everything else into the remaining transponders that have a tight footprint on the UK. Virgin need to make some 'technical changes' as they recieve all SD broadcasts from the Astra satellites.
There is meention that one of the 'mosaic' multiscreens is being culled but news multiscreen is safe, so it may be the sport multiscreen is canned or suspended if other events (say multiple coverage of proms in the park) needs it.
