Re: Football Season 2011/12

To add insult to injury, even Ireland have a team still in Europe. Shamrock Rovers have just beaten Partizan Belgrade, one of the biggest teams in the Europa League, 2-3 on aggregate, after extra time.

I guess Celtic fans can take tenuous, desperate heart in that at least.

They scored a great equalising goal too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOfNq6JY_BE

Shamrock Rovers are set to become the first Irish team to play a European match in December since Shelbourne in 1964. Heroic.

For the first time since European club football began in 1955, there will be no Scottish teams in contention on September 1. Wipeout.
