So bought a HDMI lead for the old one with a DVI converter which worked fine. The new telly just has the HDMI sockets so no need for the adapter. Plugged the HDMI lead in to the back and the picture just comes on with interference, goes off in a couple of seconds, goes green with more interference, then goes black. Then repeats the cycle. . My V+ settings are for 1080 HiDef HDMI already so thought it should work. Rang VM up and they mentioned to change the MPEG setting on the TV (of which I can't find one). So now I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Please help, I've got no TV apart from playing on the Wii which works a treat.

Also set the MPEG Noise Reduction to High (no On setting like VM asked) and that hasn't worked (didn't think it would). Tried every setting aswell.
On your TV remote have you made sure as you have selected HDMI 1 or whichever number it's connected to , usually a button input selection or source.
