How are you watching the footie on your pc?
If you're using anything like sopcast or other p2p live streaming service, you will need to physically connect your pc to the telly, which clearly won't work unless you're willing to run a very long cable.
I hear that Sky Sports do a footie service delivered straight to your telly though.
