Incidentally this whole situation has revealed a lot about the load on VM's network at certain times of day, what "peak time" really is, and why their STM hours are set as they are.

Most of them *can* but most are also on a 100mb link so they can only reliably do one 50mb connection at a time, and at peak times will be hopeless.

Manchester (by Xilo) seems to be a 100mb link as my speed is hovering just around ~90mbps right now at 4:am.

London (Namesco) is certainly "the big one" and consistently delivers 400mbps+ even at peak time. However it keeps disappearing from the available selection randomly for some reason, so I've got it saved as my preferred server. Roubaix (Mrco) is another good 500mbps+ one. I don't think I've found any other (UK) gigabit speedtest sites except Namesco.
